Traditional judging excels at objective detail. But when every nut, bolt, screw and hose clamp becomes decisive, the process can lose sight of the automobile as a whole.
M100 introduces a limited, disciplined significance assessment. It allows judging teams to recognise exceptional design, technological influence, provenance and beauty without abandoning authenticity, correctness, condition or quality.
We come together because we love cars — not because we love screws and hose clamps.
The aim is not to make concours judging less exacting. It is to make the outcome more proportionate, understandable and relevant to today’s entrants.
Cars are meant to be driven. M100 therefore distinguishes between changes that compromise historic character and discreet, well-executed adaptations that may be necessary for safe, reliable operation in modern traffic. Original appearance remains important, but preservation should not require an automobile to become a static object.
Why 100 points
One hundred represents the complete automobile.
In M100, 100 points express 100 per cent: an automobile that fulfils every relevant criterion and deserves to be regarded as complete and exceptional.
The objective is for the best car to win its class, while correctness remains fundamental. A car that satisfies every technical requirement is perfect from a technical point of view. In the Classic Car system, a technically outstanding automobile may then receive Significance Points for exceptional design, provenance, technological impact or historical importance — allowing it to achieve the full 100 points.
M100 therefore considers the automobile as a coherent whole rather than as an assembly of spare parts. Components matter, but they are judged in relation to the identity, quality, history and significance of the complete car.

A pre-war road car, a Le Mans competition car and a modern hypercar cannot be evaluated meaningfully through precisely the same lens. M100 therefore uses adapted judging processes for three distinct categories.

M100 is designed for international concours events whose fields contain automobiles from different eras, marques and disciplines — the automotive equivalent of comparing apples, oranges and entirely different fruit.
M100 also aims to help concours events remain viable for future generations. By bringing historic classics, race cars, supercars and hypercars into one shared environment — while judging each through an appropriately adapted process — it brings established classic-car enthusiasts and newer collectors into the same conversation. This exchange widens collectors’ horizons, encourages interest across generations and strengthens the future of the concours movement.
It is not intended to replace single-marque club judging or factory-specific authenticity programmes where strict model correctness is the central purpose. M100 provides a flexible common framework for events that must compare diverse, exceptional cars fairly.

Vehicle comparison & heritage
Different eras express the idea of a supercar in different ways.
There is no single component, age or body style that defines every supercar. Across almost a century, exceptional automobiles have introduced different combinations of performance, competition purpose, engineering innovation, design, rarity and cultural impact. M100 compares what made each car extraordinary in its own period.
The boundary between “modern” and “classic” also continues to move. The Lamborghini Miura and BMW M1 are now firmly accepted as classics, the McLaren F1 is already more than three decades old, and the Bugatti Veyron is beginning the same transition from technological landmark to historic object.
Competition engineering and coachbuilt elegance. The 8C 2900 brings exceptional pre-war performance, advanced engineering, individual coachwork and provenance together in one automobile.
Supercharged power and motorsport purpose. Conceived primarily for competition, the SSK shows how chassis, engine, coachwork and individual racing identity must be evaluated together.
Racing technology becomes a road-going icon. Its spaceframe, direct petrol injection and distinctive Gullwing doors unite engineering innovation, usability, performance and design.
Homologation, competition and provenance. The GTO demonstrates why model significance and the documented history of an individual chassis can be as important as physical condition.
Architecture and visual impact. Once a radical mid-engined supercar, the Miura is now an unquestioned classic and an historic design landmark.
Specialist construction. Its glass-fibre body and competition-influenced engineering require different preservation questions from those applied to a traditionally coachbuilt car.
Carbon-composite integration. Now more than 30 years old, the F1 has crossed into the historic conversation while demanding a methodology suited to bonded structures and highly specialised components.
The modern hypercar as a complete system. Extreme performance depends on an integrated network of powertrain, cooling, electronics, materials and replaceable modules — all of which reshape preservation and judging.
The same checklist cannot describe excellence across all of these cars. Their correctness remains essential, but the judging methodology must also recognise the particular design, technology, purpose and history that made each one significant.
